L. Jane Coffin, nee Symmonds, 90, of Edwardsville, Ill., formerly of Collinsville, Ill., born Feb. 15, 1923, in Warsaw, Ill., died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, in Kingman, Ariz.

Jane worked for K-Mart in Collinsville for many years as a personnel manager. She was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Hamel, Ill., and the Rebecca Lodge in Troy, Ill. She had a great love for arts and crafts and camping with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Coffin, whom she married on Nov. 27, 1942; a son, Casey D. Coffin; a great-granddaughter, Melissa Stanton; son-in-law, Terry Drenkhahn; parents, Hurshel and Lilly, nee Smeltzer, Symmonds; sisters, Dortha Van Dyke, Mary Ellison and Nadine Symmonds; brothers, Harry Symmonds, Dilbert Symmonds, and Richard Symmonds; a brother-in-law, George Coffin; and sister-in-law, Lois Kennedy.

Surviving are her children, Julie (Wilbur) Gusewelle of Edwardsville, Ill., Sue Drenkhahn of Collinsville, Ill., L. Jane (Paul) Bilyeu of Casselberry, Fla., Charles H. (Elaine) Coffin of Glen Carbon, Ill., and Frederick (Brenda) Coffin of Kingman, Ariz.; a sister, Patricia (Leroy) Johnson of Montrose, Iowa; grandchildren, Beth Langendorf, Daniel Gusewelle, DeDe Rudis, Brian Body, Laurie Stanton, Terry Drenkhahn, Paul, Christopher, and Matthew Bilyeu, Andrew Coffin, Amanda Mells, and Joshua Tiberand. her great-grandchildren, Chase and Chloe Langendorf, Brady and Emerson Gusewelle, Cole and Jordan Rudis, Zachary Freitag, Sam, Seth, and Jessica Stanton, Kynnedi and Kade Drenkhahn, Patrick, Paul and Mariel Bilyeu, Chance and Ephram Mells, and Jake Struckoff.
