Larry J. Donati, 77, of Collinsville, Ill., born March 16, 1934, in Caseyville, Ill., died at 3:25 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at his residence.
Mr. Donati retired in 1989 from the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation Division where he was a special agent. He was the investigating agent in the prosecution of Rock and Roll legend Chuck Berry. His interest included tennis, golf and watching various sporting events. Larry graduated from Collinsville
High School in 1952, and St. Louis University in 1956. Larry was a Meals on Wheels volunteer, a member of the First Baptist Church in Collinsville and a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elsie, nee Schanuel, Donati; a daughter, Lisa Marie Donati; nephew, Gary Hadfield; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Surviving are his wife, Nelda, nee Rushing, Donati whom he married on Dec. 6, 1969; daughter, Elizabeth (Charles) Harrington of Collinsville, Ill.; grandson, Charles "C J" Harrington; granddaughter, Jordan Harrington; sister, Dolly (Paul) Hadfield of Fairview Heights, Ill.; niece, Paula Hadfield of O'Fallon, Ill.; three nephews, Rodney (Beth) Hadfield of Fort Worth, Texas, Keith Hadfield of O'Fallon, Ill., and Hugh (Pam) Hadfield of Fairview Heights, Ill.; and an aunt, Irene (Joe) Muniz of Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Herr Funeral Home, with Rev. Ron Hill officiating. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
