Larry Gene Rhew, 71, of Caseyville, Ill., born June 19, 1942, in Hornersville, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.

Larry retired from Ford Motor Co., as an inspector and was a part time worker at the Han-Dee Mart in Caseyville. He was a deacon/trustee for the First Baptist Church in Caseyville. Larry loved woodworking and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie G. and Mary Ann, nee Masterson, Rhew.

Surviving are his wife, Marilyn, nee Brzostowski, Rhew of Caseyville, Ill., whom he married on Nov. 12, 1971; son, Larry Rhew Jr., of Caseyville, Ill.; grandson, Larry Rhew III of Granite City, Ill.; two sisters, Jane Jackson of Dexter, Mo., and Evelyn Dearing of St. Charles, Mo.; brother, Jerry Rhew of Bridgeman, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at the First Baptist Church, Caseyville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Lewis and Rev. Clifford Smyly officiating. Per request cremation will be accorded.
