Lavelle Estelle King

Lavelle Estelle King, 81, of Collinsville, IL, born September 14, 1937, in St. Louis, MO., passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019, in Maryville, IL.

Lavelle was a devoted, loving wife of her late husband Joe, and doting mother to her son Steven.  She was full of life, creative, fun-loving, a dedicated sister and aunt.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Lavelle was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Collinsville, IL, where she served in a variety of ministries.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph A. King; her parents, Harry and Bernice, nee Shemoski, Cooper; her two sisters, Helen Jo Nishwitz and Gail Fetterer; and two brothers, James Cooper and George Cooper.

Surviving are her son Steven (Shea) King of Goodlettsville, TN, her step daughter Susan (Mark) Miko of St. Louis, MO, her grandchildren, Maddie and Lincoln King; she is also survived by her two step grandchildren Nicole (Jordan) Tull and Christopher Miko and a step great grandchild Beau Tull; her three sisters, Jeanette Golden, Patricia Barnett and Jacqueline Hazzard; many nieces and nephews.
