Laverne Delores Kombrink, nee Landa, 79, of Caseyville, Ill., born March 22, 1932, in Glen Carbon, Ill., died at 10:41 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at her home, after more than three years courageously battling with cancer.



Mrs. Kombrink was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville, Ill., and was also a member of the St. Clair County Farm Bureau. Laverne had a great love of gardening and cooking. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who always thought of others before herself.



Laverne was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna, nee Burian, Landa; brother, William Landa; and sisters, Mildred Bauer, Helen Poneta, Emily Feig and Anna Mae Wiess.



Surviving are her husband, Orville Kombrink, whom she married on May 5, 1956; sons and daughters, Dennis (Brenda) Kombrink of Caseyville, Ill., Diane Hulliung of Caseyville, Ill., Darrrell Kombrink of Caseyville, Ill., and Darlene (Shawn) Cox of Caseyville, Ill.; a sister, Rosemarie (Leonard) Done of Glen Carbon, Ill.; and her grandchildren, Daniel, Amanda and Kyle Kombrink and Taylor and Sydney Cox.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at St. John Evangelical UCC in Collinsville, Ill., with the Rev. Tony Minear officiating. Interment in St. John Cemetery in Collinsville, Ill.
