LaVerne A. Miller, 78, of Collinsville, Ill., born Nov. 12, 1933, in Mount Olive, Ill., died Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at St. Louis University Medical Center, St. Louis, Mo.
LaVerne retired after 25 years in 1994 from Jefferson Barracks Medical Center. He was a charter member and attended Our Lord's Lutheran Church, Maryville, Ill. His two great interests were computers and music especially Neal Diamond. He loved to travel and his favorite destination was Branson, Mo. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1956 to 1958.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, nee Atkins, Miller; his parents, Conrad "Boots" and Anne, nee Kernich, Miller; an uncle, Victor Kernich; and three aunts, Rose Kalasatich, Millie Ivanovitch and Evelyn Kernich.
Surviving are his daughter, Diane M. (John) Wooden of Benld, Ill.; and a granddaughter, Madeline Hayes of Collinsville, Ill.
