Lawanda Comer, nee Grissom, 89, of Glen Carbon, Ill., born Saturday, June 6, 1925, in Clay County, Ark., passed away at 4:56 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Comer, whom she married on Sept. 5, 1944; her parents, Luther and Mary Alice, nee Verble, Grissom; brothers, Nolan, Tommy, Delmar, Denver and JT Grissom; and a sister, Flora Whaley.
Surviving are her daughters, Lisa (John Schramek) Thompson of Alhambra, Ill., and Linda (Ken) Walls of Almo, Ky.; sisters, Bertha Huston of Chesterfield, Mo., and Barbara Drury of Fenton, Mo.; brothers, Eugene Grissom of Piggott, Ark., Bill Grissom of Piggott, Ark., Kenneth Grissom of Salton Sea Beach, Calif., and Ronald Grissom of Loon Lake, Wash.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
