Obituary

Leah M Horner, 83, of Glen Carbon, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, July 12th, 2022.

She was born on December 5th, 1938, the daughter of the late Henry and Vernice Keuss, in New Athens, Illinois.

She married husband Henry John Horner, who preceded her in death in 2019.

Leah retired as a chemist from Monsanto. She was a dedicated member at First Baptist Church in Collinsville, Illinois. She enjoyed numerous hobbies including golf and quilting, Cardinals baseball, traveling and fishing with her husband.  She enjoyed all things music related, including playing piano and watching musicals, and singing/directing in church choirs, and the Collinsville Chorale.

Survivors include her daughter, Tracey (John) Garner, of Whitewater, Colorado Step children Mary Klotz, of Troy, Illinois Marcia (Keith) Oberkfell, of Maryville, Illinois LuAnne Cummins of Troy, Illinois and Megan (Jim) Cafourek of Salem, Missouri Siblings Karen Clymer, of Collinsville, Illinois Edward Keuss, of Sauget, Illinois and Kim Mross, of Ormond Beach, Florida.

She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, other extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by;  A son, Mark Edward Briggs, A step daughter, Amy Hunsche, A sister, Debra Keuss, and a grandson, Matthew Evans.

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church, at 723 St Louis Road, in Collinsville, Illinois, on Wednesday, July 20th, 2022 from 3-5PM. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Bill Patterson will follow at 5PM. Private graveside services will be held at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery the following day.

Memorials should be made out to the New England Air Museum, or to First Baptist Church of Collinsville, Illinois.
