Leo Kunz, 99, of Glen Carbon, Illinois passed away Tuesday, May 17th, 2016. He was born April 25th, 1917 in Filmore, Illinois to Cayus and Blanche (Harrison) Kunz.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth (Anderson) Kunz, and two brothers Raymond Kunz and Delmar Kunz.

Leo is survived by two sons Harry "Bruce" (Linda) Kunz of South Lake, Texas and Gene (Jean) Kunz of Hardin, Illinois; and one brother Howard Kunz of Glen Carbon, Illinois. He is further survived by three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Leo served his country valiantly during World War II in the United States Army 1st Armored Division 511. He was later honored with a flight with St. Louis Honor Flight. Leo retired from Shell Oil after 36 years.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Monday, May 23rd, 2016 at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Illinois. Funeral will be at the funeral home at Noon. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greater St. Louis Honor Flight Inc., 36 Four Seasons, Box 272, Chesterfield, MO 63017, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
