Obituary

Leola "Lee" (Harrison) Hodges (nee, Porter), 90, of Collinsville, IL, crossed over with her usual grace and elegance on Saturday, September 2, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. She was born April 23, 1928 to Lauren D. Porter and Leola (nee, Radigan) Porter in Gary, Indiana.  She was raised in Granite City by her grandparents, Henry and Emma (nee Wegner) Radigan, after her mother's untimely death in 1931.

Lee met Johnny Harrison while crossing a baseball diamond in Granite City in August of 1949.  They were married on February 10, 1950.  Together, they had three children, John, Ronald (Juggie), and Tamara.  Her husband, Johnny passed away on July 6, 1970.

Lee worked for Illinois Power Company in Granite City until she left in 1953 to start raising her children.  Upon her return to work in 1967, she was hired at Midwest Loan Company in Collinsville and became the manager of the Collinsville location.  She then went to work at Boulevard Motors in St. Louis, which is where she met her second husband David Hodges.  They married on October 15, 1977.  She retired from Boulevard in 1995.

Lee always had a love for baseball and enjoyed watching all of the Cardinal games.  She went to many games each season during her "younger days".  Her true joy in life was her children and her rescue puppy Lexi.

Lee was loved by all who knew her.  She always had a smile on her face and was willing to help anyone in need.  Her warmth and kindness could be felt just by entering a room.

Lee is preceded in death by her mother Leola Porter, father Lauren Porter, step-mother Elsie Porter, grandmother, Emma Radigan, grandfather, Henry Radigan   first husband, Johnny Harrison, second husband, David Hodges, and her son, Ronald.

Survivors are: John (Vickie) Harrison of Portage, IN, Tamara "Tami" Harrison of Collinsville, IL; three grandchildren, Chris (Brandy) Harrison, Dawn Harrison-Logan and Lani Kelly-McCurdy; five great-grandchildren, Whitney, Avery, Trevor, Lydia and Jackson; one great-great grandson, Logan; sister-in-law JoAnn Harrison; dear friend, Cindy Melton; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
