Leon Foster, 91, of Caseyville, Ill., born Tuesday, Aug. 28, 1923, in Assumption, Ill., passed away at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at Willow Creek Nursing Home in Belleville, Ill.

Leon worked at the former General Box in East St. Louis and retired as a laborer from Labor Local 359 in Belleville, Ill. He proudly served his country in the Army-AirCorp during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith, nee Reichert, Foster, whom he married on Sept. 17, 1955; and his parents, James E. and Nora Maud, nee Holland, Foster.

Surviving is his son, Robert Foster of Caseyville, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, at Herr Funeral Home, Caseyville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at the funeral home with Lee Swallows officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery in Collinsville, Ill.
