Leonard B. Kurtz, 91, of Collinsville, Ill., born May 6, 1923, in Collinsville, Ill., died Sunday, April 5, 2015.
Len was a life long Cardinals baseball fan and enjoyed gardening. He was an avid bird watcher and had several bird feeders and bird houses on his property. He also enjoyed watching the many deer and wildlife that crossed his property. He enjoyed fishing and fixing things around the house, which he also built, he was a real "handyman". Len retired from Consolidated Aluminum after many years of service. He was a World War II Air Force veteran, a member of Collinsville VFW and Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Collinsville, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye, nee Witte, Kurtz; parents, Fred and Elsie, nee Dominick, Kurtz; a brother, Fred Kurtz; two sisters, Anita and Lauretta Kurtz; and a son-in-law, Timothy Phillips.
Surviving are a son, Robert B. (Lisa) Kurtz of St. Charles, Mo.; two daughters, Janice Phillips of O'Fallon, Ill., and Mary Nelson of Kalamazoo, Mich.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, April 11, 2015, at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Rhiber officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
