Linda Marie Coverdell peacefully went to be with her loving Savior on March 4, 2023. Linda was born on December 16, 1946 in Carthage, MO, and was raised by George and Virginia Thompson.

She is survived by her sons Jeff (Christina) Coverdell of Kirkwood, MO, Travis (Feifei) Coverdell of Shanghai, China, and daughter Amy (Tony) Duckworth of Albany, GA, as well her beloved seven grandchildren: Chaney; Evan; Ellie; Cole; Imri; Meg and Ian.  She is survived by her brothers Terry (Barb) Schell and Mike Thompson, and her sister Diane David, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents George and Virginia Thompson, sister Sherry McGuire and brother Jim Thompson.

Linda grew up in the country on a farm and learned the value of hard work — which stayed with her all her days — as well as how to enjoy chicken gizzards and livers, which grossed her kids out all their days.  Her greatest joy was her family, and she especially enjoyed spoiling and spending time with her grandchildren.  She loved people and made friends wherever she went, often calling people "sweetie."  She cherished dinners and laughter with her close friends at local restaurants.  She worked for many years at Evers Pharmacy and First Presbyterian Church in Collinsville.  Prior to retirement, she enjoyed making friends and serving customers at Schnucks Des Peres.

Most recently, Linda loved chatting with residents and staff at Autumn View Gardens in Creve Coeur, MO. Her family is grateful to them for their loving care.

Linda followed Jesus from the time she was young, and has gone home to be with Him and those she loved who are welcoming her. A celebration of life will be planned for summer. If desired, contributions are preferred to the Dementia Society of America.
