Linda Kay Hindman, nee Staggs, 69, of Edwardsville, Ill., passed away Monday, March 21, 2016.
Linda worked at a bank in St. Louis, Mo., until she adopted her son in 1970. She was a homemaker while raising her three children. She began working at Collinsville Wal-Mart in 1994, and worked there for about 15 years. Linda was a long time member of Sterling Baptist Church in Fairview Heights, Ill., and then became a member of the First Baptist Church in Maryville, Ill. She loved going to concerts, dinners and trips with her Connect Group, and Friends Group. Linda was a member of the YMCA in Maryville, Ill., and had many companions there. She enjoyed attending the water aerobic classes. She was very talented at crafting and sewing. Linda loved to make gifts for all of her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary W. Hindman; and her parents, Berlin and Dona Staggs.
Surviving are her daughter, Kathy (Sam) Hindman-Saddler of Grantfork, Ill.; two sons, Michael (Michelle) Hindman of Maryville, Ill., and William (Yevonne) Hindman of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandsons, Gary, David and Brandon Hindman and Jake Saddler; two granddaughters, Kristy Hindman-Cook, and Karley Saddler; and three-great-grandchildren, Julian, Damen and Hailey; two sisters, Patricia (Gary) Branham of Farmington, Mo., and Judy Williams of Collinsville, Ill.; two brothers, Bobby (Linda) Staggs of Warrenton, Mo., and Berlin (Vicki) Staggs of Caseyville, Ill. Linda had many nieces, nephews and family friends; and friend, Ron Garcia.
Memorials may be made to Maryville Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2016, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Rockwood, Ill.
