Lisa J. Nelson, 53, of Highland, IL, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital, Clayton, MO.

She was the daughter of the late Harry Roger and Mary Gail (Fudge) Best Sr., and was born on May 15, 1968 in East St. Louis, IL.

Lisa loved race cars, cross stitching and was a huge animal lover.  She loved her family and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother; Harry Roger Best.

In addition to her beloved husband David Nelson of 34 years, she is also survived by a son; Roger W. Nelson, grandchildren; Kimberly Anne Nelson, Gabriella Rose Nelson and Cooper Lyle Nelson, siblings; Carole Ann Meadows, David Wayne Best, Sally M. Maure, twin sister Lynne  Joyce Best, Mary Alice Durbin, Bobbie Jo Daubman and Marcella Ann York, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

A celebration of Lisa's life will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00  p.m. at Herr Funeral Home, 501 West Main Street, Collinsville, IL.  Service will start at 7:00 p.m.
