Lloyd Ashby "Pooch" Worley, 92, of Collinsville, IL, born September 13, 1933, in St. Louis, MO, passed away peacefully at his family's home in Belleville, IL - under their care and the care of Hospice of Southern IL.

Lloyd worked in his younger years at Western Fibre in Caseyville. Then he worked for the Collinsville Postal Service, where he retired after 31 years as a dedicated mail carrier. He made many friends during that time. He was also a proud Army veteran.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Shirley J. Worley nee Geissert - the love of his life for nearly 65 years; his mother, Thelma Mae Worley; his father, John Henry Worley; father-in-law, George D. Geissert; mother-in-law, Jean Geissert nee Smith and Josephine Geissert nee Kimutis; sister-in-law, Helen Homyer nee Geissert; and brother-in-law, George E. Geissert.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Margie (Mike) Coon; nephew, Jon (Terri) Foster; nephew, Dean Foster; niece, Holly Homyer; nephew, Chris Homyer; and many great nieces and nephews as well as the family dog, Charlie.

He enjoyed the outdoors, keeping up with his yard, watching televised sports, and family times. His neighbors of 50 years kept him going. He will be missed terribly by all.

Lloyd was a member of a great Congregation where he ushered Sundays for many years and worked the Wurstmarkt. There were many great Pastors through the years and at present, Pastor Jenn, and also Amy who is there for you at St. John UCC in Collinsville.

A Graveside Service will be held 11:00am, Friday, September 26, 2025 at St. John Cemetery in Collinsville, Illinois.
