Loris S. Butterfield, nee Steward, 75, of Collinsville, Ill., born Nov. 25, 1937, in Springdale, Ark., died at 5:30 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at Rosewood Care Center, Edwardsville, Ill.

Loris graduated from the University of Arkansas. She was very active in the art community, belonging to the Gateway East Artist Guild, St. Louis Guild, Society of Independent Artist of St. Louis and St. Louis Watercolor Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn R. and Maude, nee Thurmond, Steward.

Surviving are her loving husband of 53 years, Robert Butterfield, whom she married on Feb. 21, 1960; two sons, Robert (Susan) Butterfield of Orlando, Fla., and James A. Butterfield of Maryland Heights, Mo.; four grandchildren, Sarah K. Butterfield of Maryland Heights, Mo., Sally Butterfield of Orlando, Fla., Paul Butterfield of Orlando, Fla., and Max Butterfield of Orlando, Fla.; a niece, Karen Maier of Littleton, Colo.; a nephew, Stephen Steward of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Artz officiating. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
