Lorraine Merideth, 85, of Maryville, Illinois, passed away on January 24, 2022, at her home.

Lorraine was born July 11, 1936, to Stanley and Genevieve (Niedzwiecki) Remiszewski in St. Louis, Missouri.  In August of 1976, she and Kenneth W. Merideth were married and spent 42 years together before he passed away in 2018.

She received her Masters Degree in Education and taught school at Bayless in St. Louis for 30 years.  Her life was for teaching and her students.  Her families fondest memories were the many years she hosted the family Christmas Eve gatherings.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth W. Merideth; brother, Stanley Remiszewski Jr.; and sisters: Bernice Cox and Maryann Mayberry.

Survivors include her sister, Barb Gooch of Foley, Alabama; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on January 31, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Shrine of St. Joseph, 1220 North 11th Street, St. Louis, Missouri. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Father Joe Weber officiating. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois, under the direction of Herr Funeral Home of Collinsville, Illinois.
