Louie E. Tettaton, 83, of Maryville, Ill., formerly of Collinsville, Ill., born Wednesday, July 15, 1931, in Marston, Mo., passed away at 2:41 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.
Louie served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict and earned the rank of Corporal M.P. He loved to reminisce about his time serving our country. He started Tettaton Heating and Air Conditioning in 1952 which he owned and operated until 1993 when he retired and his son Matt then took over the business. He enjoyed making tin men and giving them away as gifts. Louie also enjoyed and loved his garden.
He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lucille, nee Pikey, Tettaton; a son, Louie D. Tettaton; and three brothers, Jesse W. Tettaton, Harry Tettaton and Lonnie Tettaton.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn M., nee Bragg, Tettaton, whom he married on Aug. 21, 1954; two daughters, Richaleana (Chuck) Cohn of Caseyville, Ill., and Brenda (David) Schaeffer of Collinsville, Ill.; two sons, David (Marquita) Tettaton of Collinsville, Ill., and Matt (Julie) Tettaton of Caseyville, Ill.; two brothers, Al Tettaton of Festus, Mo., and Steve (Edith) Tettaton of Arnold, Mo.; a sister, Laneve (Harold) Hyde-Spitz of Warrenton, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and his beloved Doberman Pinscher, Dawn.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, Ill., with Rev. Fred Kraemer officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
