Louis S. Cohen, 97, of Glen Carbon, Illinois, passed away on September 24, 2021, at his home.

Louis was born February 9, 1924, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Harry and Mattye Cohen.  He married Barbara Bard on February 8, 1963 and spent 58 years together.

During his working career, Louis was a teacher; he worked for the Los Angeles public schools, Bloomington Minnesota public schools, and later at SIUE.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Brown; and brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Cohen of Glen Carbon, Illinois; son, Adam S. Cohen of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter, Patricia (Robert) Margulies of Los Angeles, California;  brother, Shelley Cohen of Santa Monica, California; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Cremation has been accorded by Sunset Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Glen Carbon, Illinois.
