IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Malcolm Eugene
Burns
December 18, 2000 – September 27, 2021
Malcolm Eugene Burns, 20, of Collinsville, Illinois, passed away on September 27, 2021.
Malcolm was born December 18, 2000, to Donald Eugene Burns Jr. and Tammie (Rollins) Burns, in Maryville, Illinois.
He was a graduate of Collinsville High School 2019, and was a Kahok through and through. He played football during his school days and was a wide receiver, he also was a member of the track team where he was a high jumper and sprinter. Malcolm was a member of REVIVE Church in Collinsville, Illinois. It was there he began his Christian background and learned to run sound there when he was younger. Malcolm was a pretty boy and a ladies man which was probably how he had the "because I'm Malcolm" attitude. His prize possession was his tall hair.
He had many different levels to his personality and life, he was a great son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was strong willed and would always fight for what he believed in (even if he wouldn't admit he was wrong). He enjoyed naps, his mama's macaroni and cheese, and loved his Hot Cheeto's. Malcolm was a lover of animals, especially dogs. He may not admit it but he was fond of his sister's cat. He was very dedicated, whether it was to work or being there for family and friends. He had recently purchased a bike and was very fond of riding it and proud of it.
Malcolm was preceded in death by his grandmothers: Stella Y. Burns and Cathy A. Starnes; uncle, Todd Dwayne Burns; and his Godfather, David L. Hayes.
Survivors include his parents; Don and Tammie Burns of Collinsville, Illinois; brother, Lamar Eugene Burns and wife Brandy of Columbia, South Carolina; sisters: Kayla Anne Stevenson of Collinsville, Illinois,Tisha Fletcher and husband Damian of Collinsville, Illinois, and Alexa LeeAnne Burns of Collinsville, Illinois; grandfathers: Donald Eugene Burns Sr. of Shiloh, Illinois and Dewey T. Starnes of Harrison,Arkansas; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
A visitation will take place on October 9, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the REVIVE Church, 1105 Beltline Road, Collinsville, Illinois. A celebration of his life will be held at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Myles Holmes officiating. Herr Funeral Home & Cremation Services were in charge of arrangements. Cremation will follow services.
