Marcella Sherman, nee Cheli, 102, of Caseyville, Ill., born May 28, 1913, in Verdin, Ill., died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, in Caseyville, Ill.

Marcella was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a great-great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joe Barkowski, and Henry Sherman; her parents, Pete and Theresa Cheli; a sister, Margaret Knatat; and a brother, Muttzeni "Mutt" Cheli.

Surviving are her daughter, Gloria Rogger of Freeburg, Ill.; a granddaughter, Debbie (Paul) Bergman of Freeburg, Ill.; a great-granddaughter, Amber Duvall; a great-great- granddaughter, Madilyn Smith; dear friend, Maria Fonseca; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family of Marcella would like to acknowledge the staff of Caseyville Nursing and Rehab and Unity Hospice for their care and kindness that was given to the family.

Service: As per the request of the family, cremation rites will be accorded with a private family service at a later date.
