Margaret Anne Meier, 86, of Collinsville, IL born December 3, 1933, in Kansas City, MO, to the late Harry Lewis and Gertrude (Rhodes) Lewis, passed away July 30, 2020.

In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Orville Meier and 2 brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Roger (Becky) Meier of Rogersville, MO; Kimberly (Stephen) Sims of Cleveland, Ohio; and Robin (Tina) Meier, of Collinsville, IL; grandchildren Abigail (Kevin) McGown of Marshfield, MO; Marissa Meier, of Collinsville, IL and one great-grandchild James Roger McGown.  Margaret is also survived by one brother Harry Lewis Jr., of Troy, IL.

Reflections of my Mother:

I took this picture on my walk Tuesday morning and looking at it showed me a little bit of her.  She loved open spaces and big homes.  It showed me a beautiful sky that she can see down on now.  I was also thinking of words that described her life, here are a few: Loving, good hearted, fighter, sassy, mind of her own, loving, proprietor of hats, shoes and clothes, especially coats.  She made sure we were involved in many things and taught us to be independent.  She was in many hearts.  I will miss her remarks about things I didn't recognize as important.  She was one of the few people that could travel to Europe for a few weeks and come back with an accent that could last a year.  I was blessed to be her son and will forever miss her spark.  I am also blessed with such love from my brother and sister that she instilled in us.  Treasure every moment we have together is my lesson.  I am truly blessed with family, friends and a loving bride.
