Margret "Peg" Schleuger, 79, of Collinsville, Ill., born Oct. 2, 1934, in Los Angeles, Cal., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014.

Peg graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High, Fort Dodge, Iowa in 1953 where she met her future husband Robert "Bob" Schleuger. Bob and Peg were married Dec. 29, 1956, together they lived in Iowa City, Iowa where Peg attended the State University of Iowa College of Dentistry and obtained her Dental Hygienist certification.

She balanced her career while raising the first of two daughters (Paula) in Carbondale, Ill. until their second daughter (Laura) was born in 1962. Peg followed Bob in his career to Springfield, Mattoon, and finally settled in Collinsville the Fall of 1968.

Peg became involved in Welcome Wagon, then joined and actively participated in Junior Service Club since 1972. She began working in the 80''s and retired from Target. Peg enjoyed time with her many friends playing golf, bridge, visiting casinos, attending theatrical productions, and going to the movies. She liked to read, shop, watch on television her soap opera, Cardinal baseball, and pro golf. Her love of nature was to bird watch and shell hunting on the many beaches she visited.

Peg was preceded in death by her parents John and Phyllis, nee Lemkuil, Ondrejka; brother, Duane Chambers; and husband, Bob Schleuger.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Paula J. (Mike) Wanous and Laura A. (Bob) Clark of Collinsville; grandson, Aaron M. Clark of Chandler, Ariz; Sister-in-law Janette Chambers and her five children; Chris, Marc, Doug, Carrie, and Suzanne; along with their families.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 " 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill. Also before mass on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 from 9:30 " 10:30 a.m. at S.S. Peter and Paul Church.

Funeral: Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 at S.S. Peter and Paul Church with the Rev. John Beverage officiating.
