Marian Anies Verharst, nee Bosen, 94, of Glen Carbon, Ill., formerly of St. Louis, Mo., born June 29, 1917, in Collinsville, Ill., died at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, in Glen Carbon, Ill.



Mrs. Verharst belonged to Women's Adorer's League, also known as Pink Sisters, of Mount Grace Convent of St. Louis, Mo.



Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Norman John Verharst, whom she married on April 24, 1946; parents, Edward Nicholas and Celeste, nee Reese, Bosen; and two brothers, Edward J. and Richard Bosen.



Surviving are her daughter, Mary Sue (Thomas) Cowie of Troy, Ill.; grandson, Stephen Cowie of Grand Canyon, Ariz.; nieces, Cheryl Irvin and Delores Cox; and nephews, Ronald, Richard and Terry Bosen. She was a great-aunt, cousin and friend.

Visitation: Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, Ill. A prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.



Funeral: Funeral; service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2012, at the funeral home with Father Pat Jakel officiating. Interment in Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
