COLLINSVILLE- Marie J. Baucom, 68, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Marie was born June 26, 1949 in Steelville, MO to Leonard and Melba (Bogard) Gibson.

She married John L. Baucom on August 12, 1970; he preceded her in death on July 3, 2014.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, John Stempf; brother Leonard Gibson & sister-in-law, Vickie Gibson, and sisters, Donna Gibson and Shirley Ann Gibson.

Marie is survived by her children, Eva (Johnny) Murray of Belleville, IL, Shirley (John) Stempf of Collinsville, IL, John (Jennifer) Baucom of Granite City, IL, and James Wardwell of Collinsville, IL; her siblings Melba (Timothy) Porter of Collinsville, IL, Ralph (Kathy) Gibson of Franklin, KY, and Naomi (John) Emrich of Lexington, MS; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Marie worked as a sales associate for Wal-Mart in O'Fallon, IL for nearly 30 years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister. She adored all children and loved the time she was able to spend with her own dear grandchildren. Above all else, Marie's faith and love of God was her guide and strength throughout her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

VISITATION: A visitation for Marie will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 3:00 P.M.- 7:00 P.M. at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, IL.

FUNERAL: A funeral service will be held on Thursday, following the visitation, at 7:00 P.M. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
