Marion Francis Owens Sr., 93, of Caseyville, Ill., born March 25, 1918, in Tilden, Ill., died at 11:05 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, at Rosewood Care Center in Swansea, Ill.



Mr. Owens was a member and past commander of VFW Post No. 1117 in Caseyville, Ill., the Caseyville Moose, Masonic Lodge No. 712 in Collinsville, Ill., and was a 32 degree Mason. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite and the ICWU.



Marion was preceded in death by his wife, Violet, nee Wells, Owens, whom he married on Feb. 23, 1943; parents, Murray and Maude E. Owens; a brother, Dave Owens; and a sister, Beulah Clark.



Surviving are his children, Debi (Mark) Blackburn of Fairview Heights, Ill., Jack (Donna) Owens of Harvester, Mo., and Marion (Marilyn) Owens Jr., of Marion, Ohio; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
