Mary L. Schroeder, nee Baldwin, 93, of Glen Carbon Ill., formerly of Collinsville, Ill., born in Toledo Ohio on Oct. 23, 1919, died on Saturday Jan. 5, 2013, at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon, Ill.
She married Lorin L. "Bud" Schroeder in 1938, in East St Louis he precedes her in death.
Mary worked at Christian Welfare Hospital and Sears & Roebuck, in East St Louis, Ill., and Esquire Cleaners in Collinsville, Ill.
Mary loved to crochet in her spare time. She dearly loved playing canasta with friends and family over the years. She and her husband traveled throughout Europe and in all 50 states.
She had been a member of the White Shrine drill team in East St. Louis, Ill., and the Fe Lions (womens group) of the Caseyville Lions Club.
Mary was also preceded in death by a twin sister, Bernice (at birth); her father, Rufus Baldwin; mother, Eva; and step father, Bill McGuerty; and brother, Richard Baldwin.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet (Ernest) Thompson of Collinsville, Ill.; granddaughters, Karen (Dennis) Johnson of Edwardsville, Ill., and Eva (John) Babb of Affton, Mo.; her great-grandchildren, Blake and Arianna Johnson and Lennon Babb.
