Mary Gail Best, nee Fudge, 78, of Highland, Ill., born May 7, 1935, in St. Louis, Mo., passed away at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Best Sr.; a son, Harry R. Best Jr.; parents, George B. and Viola, nee Gilbert, Fudge; four brothers and four sisters.

Surviving are her children, Sally (Mark) Mauer of Troy, Ill., Carol (Jeffrey) Meadows of Collinsville, Ill., David (Cindy) Best of Greenville, Ill., Lynne Best of Troy, Ill., Lisa (David) Nelson of Highland, Ill., Mary Hannon of Highland, Ill., Bobbie Jo (Carl) Daubman of Alton, Ill., and Marcella York of Trenton, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
