HIGHLAND- Mary E., nee Haverman, McCallister, 78, of Highland, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at her residence. She was born May 13, 1938 in East St. Louis, Ill. to John and Flora, nee Haege, Haverman.

She married Thomas T. McCallister on October 23, 1967; he preceded her in death on July 25, 1995.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Karen Moody; grandson, Sean Dorste; five brothers and three sisters.

Mary is survived by her children, Carol Levart of Highland, Brenda Macke of Highland, Melinda Duniphan of Granite City, Cheryl McCallister of Highland, Thomas C. McCallister of Highland and Jessica (Brenton) Ellis of Greenville; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mary worked as a homemaker. She was devoted to her family and loved the time she was able to spend with them. Her giving spirit and love for all children will never be forgotten.

Visitation: A visitation for Mary will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 4-8 P.M. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home in Glen Carbon.

Funeral: A funeral will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mary''s family. Donations can be accepted at the funeral home. Additional condolences may be sent to the family through this online guestbook.
