Mary Barbara Klawonn

Mary B. Klawonn, 100, long time resident of Caseyville, Ill., born April 28, 1917, in Jackson, Minn., passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017.

Mary was a loving wife and mother who loved to spend time with her family. In her earlier years she worked at St. Stephen''s Catholic School in Caseyville, Ill.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles A. "Bud" Klawonn; parents, George and Sarah, nee Shay, Higi; sister, Frances Tessmer; brothers, Charles Higi, Jacob Higi and Jimmy Higi.

Surviving are her daughters, Sarah Marie Kemp of Slater, Mo., Mary Lou (Bernard) Kassing of Caseyville, Ill., Helen (Joe) Gresham of Ava, Ill.; she is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice, in the order of Masses to St. Stephen Catholic Church or Holy Rosary Catholic Church and can be received at the funeral home. Condolences to the family can be expressed through this online guestbook.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services for Mary will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill. Burial will follow the services at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
