Mary Lou Mell (nee Sumner) - Late of Collinsville, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 18, 2023, in Maryville.  Age 89.

Mary Lou was born in Madison, IL, and a graduate of Collinsville High School Class of 1952.

She married her first husband Bob Call and together they had four children, Autumn Banks, Tyrone, GA; Jeff (Amy) Call, St. Louis, MO; Mark Call, Maryville, IL; and Kelly (Carl) Plaskett, Kennesaw, GA.

She was part owner of the Camelot Golf Course in Collinsville, IL.  Retired from JC Penny in 2002, where she worked in the cosmetic department.

Mary Lou was a member of Bluffview Baptist Church.  She was an active member of the Collinsville Jr. Service since 1969, where she served as President in 1983.  She also volunteered for many years with the Italian Fest.  She was a member of the Collinsville Business Professionals Women's Club.  She also enjoyed bowling, camping, traveling, crocheting and playing cards with friends.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband George 'Tom' Mell Sr., her four children; very good friends Vicky Jackson and Kari Mell; grandchildren Morgan, Madison, and Macy Mell, Jason Call, Adam Banks, Matthew Call, Chelsea Call, Lacey Call, Max Plaskett and Alex Plaskett.  Great-grandchildren Keaton, Karley, Lillian and Caden Call; Amelia Banks and her dog Lucy.

Mary Lou was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Per her wishes cremation rites will be accorded with an inurnment at Sunset Hill memorial Estates to be held at a later date.
