Matilda Elizabeth "Tillie" Astrauskas, nee Waitukaitis, 93, of Maryville, Ill., born March 14, 1919, in Collinsville, Ill., died at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at Liberty Village Nursing Home in Maryville, Ill.

Mrs. Astrauskas was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, Ill. Tillie had a great love of gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alphonse Astrauskas, whom she married on Nov. 12, 1938; parents, John and Mary, nee Jackowich, Waitukaitis; sisters and brothers, Helen Beisel, Adele Tojo, Joseph Waitukaitis, Walter Waitukaitis, and Julius Waitukaitis; a grandson, Steven Astrauskas; and a former son-in-law, Joe Yakubinis.

Surviving are her sons and daughter, Lawrence (Stephanie) Astrauskas of Troy, Ill., Philip (Mary Ellen) Astrauskas of Collinsville, Ill., Mary Catherine Astrauskas Yakubinis of Collinsville, Ill, and Al (Judy) Astrauskas of Lebanon, Ill.; grandchildren, Jeffrey Yakubinis, Jennifer Casey, Tamara (Todd) Brennan, Julie Ann (Eddie) Nance, Phil (Linda) Astrauskas Jr., Jason Astrauskas, Kimberly Jokisch, Bart Astrauskas, David (Katie) Astrauskas and Larah (Mike) Duckworth; great-grandchildren Christopher Casey, Samantha, Abigail and Nicole Astrauskas, Holly Medler, Christian and Conner Schmidt, Elijah and Jadie Nance, Emma Jokisch, Oliver Astrauskas and Collin Duckworth.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at the church with Father John Beveridge officiating. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Troy, Ill.
