Matthew Scott Merrifield was born April 25, 1989 to James and Bobbie Merrifield. Matthew passed away unexpectedly on August 2, 2022 at the age of 33.

Matthew enjoyed playing sports. He excelled in football. He played for Collinsville raiders for 10 years. Matthew graduated from Collinsville high school in 2007.

Matthew also was an amazing music artist. He was a great writer. His music and lyrics was all based on his walk in life.

More than anything Matthew love his two sons Chance and Lyric.

Matthew was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Fern Merrifield, his maternal grandmother Eileen Merrifield and his paternal uncle Joseph Merrifield, all of Collinsville IL.

Matthew leaves to cherish his memory, his children Chance and Lyric. His parents James and Bobbie. His brothers, Michael, James and Marcus. As well as a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Herr Funeral Home 501 West Main St, Collinsville, IL from 10:00 a.m., to 1:00 p.m., with a Memorial service to start at 1:00 p.m.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

The Merrifield family would like to thank you all for the love and support that's been poured on them during their time of grief.
