Maureen L. Blachfelner, 82, of Glen Carbon, Illinois passed away peacefully on November 1, 2023. She was born to Alban and Eleanor (Schrag) McCarthy on April 30, 1941 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Maureen received her Master's Degree in education and was a dedicated elementary school teacher for numerous years. She married Arnold Blachfelner on June 14, 1980 and they were blessed with many happy years together. Maureen was an avid bridge player, she enjoyed golfing, reading, and she loved dachshund dogs.

Those left to cherish Maureen's memory are her loving husband Arnold, daughter Julie Bryan, grandchildren Katie Jane and Stephanie Anne, along with other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Maureen will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Dr, Glen Carbon, IL 62034.
