Maureen Theresa (nee Burke) O'Donnell, (90), of Collinsville, IL passed away in the comfort of her home on Saturday, December 21, 2024.

Maureen was born in St. Louis, MO on January 25, 1934 to Martin J. and Mary Alice (nee Hale) Burke. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Mary Alice Burke, her beloved husband John Jones. O'Donnell Jr., her brothers Martin, Patrick, and Brian Burke, and infant granddaughters Morgan and Shannon Sullivan.

Maureen graduated from Incarnate Word Academy in 1952. While in high school, she enjoyed performing in community theatre. A blind date in the summer of 1952 led to a beautiful 54-year marriage to the love of her life, John Jones O'Donnell Jr.. Together they raised a family and worked side by side at their family business, Collinsville Ice and Fuel Co.

Maureen was a devoted and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, nana, and great nana. Her kind heart, loving spirit, and great advice will be greatly missed by all who love her.

She is survived by her children Mary Alice (Frank) Severino of Collinsville, IL, John A. (Suzanne) O'Donnell of St. Louis, MO, Patricia A. (Gary) Wilhelm of Nashville, IL, Martin B. O'Donnell of Waterloo, IL, and Kathleen B. (Paul) Sullivan of Collinsville, IL.; along with her beloved grandchildren, John A. (Christine) O'Donnell Jr., Katie Allen, Edward (Emily) O'Donnell, Meghan (Justin) Torres, Bridget (Jordan) Brink, Colleen (Blake) Powell, Martin C. (Victoria) O'Donnell, Brandon (Tiffany) O'Donnell, Erin (Bradley) Lewis, and Sean P. Sullivan; great grandchildren, John A. III, Maggie, Evelyn O'Donnell, Clara, Faustina, Anthony, Lilia and Sebastian Martin, Emily Torres, Rosie and Ivy Powell, Burke and Grey O'Donnell, Grady, Bodey, Kolby O'Donnell, Charlotte, Jolene, Elizabeth, and Bonnie Lewis, and great-great grandchildren Briley and Willow Craig.

Services:

Visitation Monday, December 30, 2024, 10am-11am at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, IL, Mass at 11 am. Interment SS Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to BJC Hospice of Glen Carbon or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
