Mavis Markland – (nee Smith) – Passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Sunday, April 24, 2022.  Age 86.

Survived by her loving husband of 66 years Blaine Markland; her four children Beverley (Mark) Cornell, James (Carol) Markland, David Markland and Angela Crane; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a brother Roy (Lilian – Deceased) Smith.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents Horace and Ivy (nee Sherlock) Smith; a brother and a sister.

Born in London, England on November 11, 1935.  Mavis was a survivor of the London Blitz.  Member of the Bluffview Baptist Church and a member of the Collinsville Christian Women's Club.  Mavis enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, the arts and crocheting.

Mavis was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Roger Wright officiating.  Interment Sunset Hill Cemetery.  Visitation Thursday from 3-6 PM at Sunset Hills Funeral Home.
