Mazie V. Gilland, 90, of Collinsville, IL, passed away Saturday, November 14th, 2015 in Belleville, IL. She was born Sunday, December 14th, 1924 in Villa Rica, GA to Blanche Oliver and Bammie Lodessa (Simmons) Sauls. She married Robert S. Gilland, January 5th, 1944.

Mazie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers; O. Curtis, Cecil, James and Roger Sauls. She is further predeceased by one grandson, Frank A. Pendleton, Jr. and by one great-grandson.

She is survived by children; Wanda (Bob) Johnson of Versailles, KY, Bob (Lori) Gilland of Collinsville, IL, Eileen (Brandon) Duplain of Edwardsville, IL, and Kathleen Todd of O''Denton, MD, Chris (Melody) Gilland of Belleville, IL, a brother; Edmund Sauls, grandchildren; Eric Wellinghoff, Beckie Todd, Jim Todd, and Mazie Jo Gilland. She is further survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and one great-great granddaughter, Averi Marie Wellinghoff.

Mazie was the former Director of the Mazie V. Gilland Child Development Center at Scott Air Force Base.

Memorials may be made in Mazie''s honor to Disabled Veterans or to Unity Hospice.

Memorial Gathering for Mazie will be Friday, November 20th, 2015 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Sunset Hill Funeral Home in Glen Carbon, IL. Anyone wishing to speak at the visitation may do so at 2:00 pm. There will be a Graveside interment immediately following in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
