Melvin John "Butch" Buetikofer, age 76, of Maryville, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022,  4:00 p.m. at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois.

He was born November 28, 1945 in East St. Louis, Illinois, and was the son of the late John Elmer and Mabel (nee: Mann) Buetikofer.

He married Janice Marie Crabtree on December 10, 1966.  She survives.

Prior to retirement, he was employed for many years at Ameren as a Gas Foreman.

He is also survived by a daughter; Lee Ann (Michael) Wrigley of Collinsville, Illinois
Five Grandchildren; Brittany Miller, Alexandria Buetikofer, Jacqueline Buetikofer, Brendon Wrigley, and Cody Fisher
Three Great-Grandchildren: Lettie McCallister, August Buetikofer, and Bennett Mitchell
Other Extended family members and many friends.

He was also preceded in death by a son Mark Alexander Buetikofer and by a sister: Dorothy.
