IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Melvina Laverne
Ahart
November 1, 1934 – June 10, 2022
Obituary – Melvina LaVerne Ahart
Celebration of Life – Melvina LaVerne Ahart
The world lost a devoted mother, caring sister, precious grandmother, beloved aunt, and true friend!
Melvina LaVerne Ahart, who was highly respected and loved by many, departed her loving family on
Friday, June 10, 2022.
Melvina was born in Collinsville, Illinois on November 1, 1934 to Lonnie and Anna Belle Ahart. She
attended Collinsville High School.
As Project Lead at McDonald Douglas/Boeing (1966-1992), Melvina was known for her hard work,
tenacity, and reliability. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. What she enjoyed most was savoring
delicious cuisines, reading, spending time with family and solving small mini scratch off puzzles. She was
most proud of her two brilliant children.
Although she is a classy lady, she was also sassy. All those who knew her would unanimously say that she
had a huge heart of love that stretched from here to the stars! Her compassion for others was
indescribable. Melvina possessed uncommon courage and grit, she would fight for her family no matter
what periodt. Her favorite music genre is of course music from the 70's like "Angie Girl" or Ain't No
Mountain High Enough" to name a few.
She is survived by her two children, Valerie Cardwell and Rodney (Regina)Ahart, three brothers, Garry
(Phyllis) Crumer, Reginald (Ranae) Crumer, and Ronnie (Bernadine) Crumer; a whole host of nieces and
nephews and other relatives; six grandchildren: Joshua, Kisha, Jeremiah, Josiah, Jacob, and Hannah Ahart,
and a host of friends.
She was pre-ceded in death by her mom, Anna Belle Crumer, her dad, Lonnie Ahart, two sisters, Stella
Burns, and Ruby Chenault, three brothers Lonnie Ahart Jr., Larry Crumer, and Robert Ahart, and two
nephews, Todd Burns and Jackie McClain
