Merrell Modene Wilson, age 77, was born on January 22, 1943, and passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, in Alton, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Louis Wilson, her parents, James and Margaret Gentry (nee Gregary), and her grandson, Corey Wilson.

Merrell is survived by her children, Daniel Wilson, Kathleen (Stephen) Ward, and Kimberly (Robert Giffin) Murphy, her grandchildren, Jennifer Murphy, Brandi Murphy, Anthony Murphy, Elisha Ward, Nathaniel Ward, Zachary Ward, Nikki Jo Wilson, Jacob Giffin, Faith Giffin, and Isaiah Giffin, and nine cherished great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that during these difficult times you say a prayer, hug your family and stay safe.

A private visitation will be held for Merrell and burial rites will take place at Sunset Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery in Glen Carbon, IL.
