Michael Ryan "Lumpy" Cary, 49, passed away on January 20, 2022, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Illinois.

Lumpy was born January 3, 1973, in Belleville, Illinois, to Landon and Donna (Luther) Cary. He worked as a Crane Operator for 25 years for Grossman Iron & Steel.

He was the most giving and loving soul that you would ever meet. Lumpy had a heart of gold and would always put other needs first. He never knew a stranger and would feed people, give people rides, or whatever he needed to do to help.  His generosity and kindness will always be remembered.  He belonged to a Motorcycle club and loved to ride his trike.

Lumpy was preceded in death by his father, Landon Cary.

Survivors include his daughter, Kathryn Cary of Collinsville, Illinois; mother Donna Cary of Collinsville, Illinois; brother Donald Cary Sr. and wife Terri of New Douglas, Illinois; sister, Theresa Mitchell and husband Terry of Collinsville, Illinois; nephews:  Donald Cary Jr. and wife Brittany, Terry Mitchell Jr., and Michael Mitchell; niece, Corrine Mitchell; as well as great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Lumpy's life will be on February 5, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Caseyville Community Center, 909 S. Main Street, Caseyville, Illinois.

Cremation has been accorded by Herr Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Collinsville, Illinois.
