HIGHLAND- Michael "Mick" J. Soos, 66, of Highland, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at his residence.

Mick was born May 8, 1952 in St. Louis, MO to John Stephen Sr. and Sarah (Woodford) Soos. They preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Sarah Soos; brother and sister-in-law, David and Ruth Reynolds; and John and Katie's mother, Valerie King.

Mick is survived by his children, John Soos (wife, Shannon) of Edwardsville, IL, Katie Soos of Edwardsville, IL and Stephen Soos; siblings, Carolyn McDonald (husband, Jim) of Linn Creek, MO, Kathleen Yates (husband, Jim) of Eureka, MO, and John S. Soos Jr. (wife, Betty) of Cuba, MO; and his former in-laws, Henry J. "Hank" and Violet G. "Vi" Schneider of Collinsville, IL.

Mick worked as a machinist, pipefitter and chemical production operator at Mallinckrodt Chemical for 40 years, before his retirement in 2010. He was a member of the NRA and the Town and Country Gun Club, where he enjoyed shooting competitively. He was a talented bass guitarist, and filled in for multiple bands in the area. Mick was always trying new restaurants and recipes; his love for food took him to many different places to eat throughout the years. Mick will be dearly missed by his family and dear friends.

VISTIATION: A visitation for Mick will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Drive, Glen Carbon,

SERVICE: A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation, at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded.
