Milfred R. "Mel" Shadwick, 81, of Collinsville, Ill., born Dec. 25, 1932, in Troy, Ill., died at 7:40 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2014, in Glen Carbon, Ill.
Mr. Shadwick had retired from Boeing. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, Ill., and enjoyed bowling on the Holy Cross Church League. He was also a member of the Collinsville American Legion and worked at their fish fry for many years. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.
Mel was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, nee Fedder, Shadwick, whom he married on Jan. 21,1961; parents, Joseph and Idell, nee Ditmer, Shadwick; and two brothers, Donald and Armin Shadwick.
Surviving are his children, Renee (Doug) Delashmit, David (Lieda) Shadwick and Denise (Dennis) Campbell, all of Collinsville, Ill.; his grand children, Victoria, Tiffany, Ashley, Branden and Bryan; brother, Ray (Glory) Shadwick of Edwardsville, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Charmaine Shadwick and Hilda Shadwick; also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
