Myrtle Frances Howard, 89, of Bunker Hill, Illinois passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

Myrtle was born in East St. Louis, Illinois on February 8, 1936, to James and Frances Green.

She worked as a school bus driver when her children were young, then began a career at the Federal Reserve Bank in St. Louis, Missouri. She spent a lot of time at her beloved church, playing cards with her friends and family, and reading her favorite novels in her spare time.

She was a loving mother to Greg Howard, Donn (Deanna) Howard, and Julie Hauff, who are all left to mourn her. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren, Josh (Randi) Howard, Jennifer (Isaiah) Garn, Tad Milburn, Taylor (Mario) Escalante Ortiz, Austin Howard and Connor Howard; great grandchildren Mackenzie Howard, Morgan Howard, Jase Howard, Sofia Hauff, Laynie Walsh, and Quinn Massey. Along with many nieces and nephews.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Daniel Howard, her sisters Rosetta Higdon and Beverly Sue Massey, her brothers Robert Green and James Green, grandson Donnie Howard, and her granddaughter Ashley Hauff.

Services for Myrtle will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 21, 2025 from the Chapel of Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, IL.

Family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the hour of service at the funeral home.
