Obituary

Nancy Ruth Dunlap, 94, born Nov. 12, 1919, in Moorman, Ky., passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, under the care of Hospice Savannah and her family.

Ms. Dunlap lived most of her life in Granite City, Ill., before moving to Savannah 16 years ago. She was a member of Cresthill Baptist Church and served as a volunteer at Vacation Bible School and the Baptist Center Clothes Closet. She also was a long time member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Granite City, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Lee Dunlap; son, Kenneth Brooks Dunlap; and her parents, Arthur Pinkney Drake and Annie Ethel Hayes.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Roy Richard of Savannah; daughter-in-law, Doris Dunlap of Peoria, Ariz.; grandsons, Michael Allen Dunlap (Lori) of Ocean, N.J., Kyle James Richard (Kristen) of Salisbury, Md., and Matthew Robert Richard (Brady) of Denver, Colo. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Ryan and Ashley Dunlap and Sadler and Court Richard.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of the MSI unit of Memorial Health and the staff and volunteers of Hospice House Savannah for their kindness and compassion in treating Ms. Dunlap and her family.

Visitation: Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, Ill. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Ill.
