Nancy Jean Harding, nee McIver, 85, of Glen Carbon, IL, formerly of Collinsville, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016 in Edwardsville, IL.

Nancy was born April 11, 1930 in Elizabeth, NJ. She received her baccalaureate degree from Elmira College in Elmira, New York. Her strong Christian faith was evident as she was active in Bible Study Fellowship as a class administrator for many years as well as a discussion leader. She was also a member of P.E.O. As a homemaker, her love and care for her family was a very important part of her life. She was a wonderful, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Jean, nee Burns, McIver, who were both originally from Glasgow, Scotland.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Clarke T. Harding Jr., whom she married August 15, 1953 in Elizabeth, NJ; to this union, four children also survive. Clarke T. Harding III of Fresno, CA, with his wife Linley and their children Meredith and Hannah Garcia and her husband Arturo; Peter M. Harding of Colorado Springs, CO, with his wife Mary and their children Bailey, Mitchell and Madeleine; Ted A. Harding of St. Charles, MO; and Leigh Schwenk of Marine, IL, with her husband Matt and their children Brennan, Logan and Taylor.

Memorial contributions in honor of Nancy may be made to Alzheimer''s Research in care of Herr Funeral Home, 501 W. Main St., Collinsville, IL.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.

Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. following the visitation with Rev. Dr. Lloyd Shaw officiating. Private family burial follows at St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.
