Nancy Carol McElligott (nee Sentiff) of Collinsville, IL, passed away at the age of 83, on Sunday, May 5, 2013.

Born on April 9, 1930 to Blanche Williams (nee Kirk) and Walter Sentiff, Nancy graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School in 1947. She was married for 65 years to Francis W. (Mac) McElligott. They lived together in Edgemont, IL, before relocating to Collinsville, IL in 1963.

During her lifetime, Nancy worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell; a dental assistant for the practice of Sterling Titchenal; and, as a customer service representative in the credit department of Famous-Barr.

Nancy enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, card games with friends, and crossword puzzles. She was a former member of the Collinsville Home Extension, where she served as a 4-H leader; a former den leader for the Cub Scouts, and, an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Francis W. (Mac) McElligott, son, Timothy D. (Pamela) McElligott of Fenton, MO.; son-in-law, Joseph Weissert of Edwardsville, IL.; daughter-in-law, Susan McElligott (nee Bullard) of Riverview, FL., grandchildren, Zoe (Thomas) Kash of Durham, NC., Brian (Lindsay) Weissert of Santa Monica, CA.; Tyler (Diana) McElligott of St. Louis, MO.; Colleen Weissert of Edwardsville, IL.; and, Devyn McElligott of Riverview, FL.; sister, Teddy (Jerry) Alligood of Alachua, FL.; one great-granddaughter, and, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott F. McElligott; daughter, Lynn E. Weissert (nee McElligott); sister, L. Joyce McClain (nee Williams); and, brother, Gary Sentiff.

Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
