Naomi "Jeanice" Prather (nee Rushing) - Passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2023. Age 94.

Survived by her four children Beth (Rick) Pitman of San Antonio, TX, Greg (Patti) Prather of Sherman, IL Jeff (Vicki) Prather of Troy, MO; and Lisa Meyer of Maryville, IL. Ten grandchildren Angela (Brad) Manderfeld, Kim (Jason) Mace, Gerry (Debbie) Prather, Mandy (Kelly) Kovski, Tommy (Mandy Kay) Prather, Tyler Prather, Trent Prather, Staci Horton, Andrea Ostendorf and Alaina (Jordon) Amos. Great grandchildren Sam, Stella, Sadie, Emma, Abbie, Kaylee, Kody, Lucy, Jack, Jace, Ava, Nora, Lucas, Logan and Adalynn.

Preceded in death by her husband of 68 years James Prather, her parents Thomas and Irene (nee Thomas) Rushing.

Jeanice was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Maryville. She was a wonderful seamstress, enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and games with her grandchildren. She was a fabulous cook and famous for her chicken and dumplings.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great GG who will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Lying in state at First Baptist Church, 7110 State Route 162, Maryville, on Saturday, January 14, 2023, from 10.00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM with Pastor Thomas Hufty officiating. Internment Sunset Hill Memorial Estates. In lieu of flowers memorials to church, First Baptist Church will be appreciated.
