Nena Eileen Davisson, nee Ballard, 85, of Collinsville, Ill., born Aug. 5, 1927, in Mattoon, Ill., died at 5:20 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, in Edwardsville, Ill.

Mrs. Davisson was a retired teacher, having taught at Collinsville Unit 10, and Troy grade school for 24 years. She was a member of the Purple Pride, the First Methodist Church of Collinsville, Ill., the AARP and bridge clubs. She had a passion for the St. Louis Cardinals and loved the Kahoks.

Nena was preceded in death by her husband, Don Davisson, whom she married on Aug. 7, 1948; parents, Harvey L. and Opal, nee Selby, Ballard; and a daughter, Carla J. Davisson.

Surviving are her children, Greg (Lori) Davisson of Collinsville, Ill., Susan Pleimann of St. Louis, Mo., Kathy (Rick) Ivnik of Garfield, Ark., and Eric (Sarah) Davisson of Minooka, Ill.; brother and sister, Bob Ballard of Effingham, Ill., and Carolyn Hortenstine of Ramsey, Ill.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
